Story

We are both nursing students from Queens University, Belfast and we will be carrying out our elective medical placement in Kikuyu Hospital, Kenya, with thanks to Mission Africa, who have made this possible. Kikuyu Hospital was founded by Presbyterian Church of East Africa.

A portion of the money raised will be donated to Mission Africa so they can continue to reach out to the people of Africa about the Good News of the Lord and also for their outreach to vulnerable and deprived communities. We will be donating the remainder of the money to hospital itself, so it will be able to purchase and use essential medical equipment needed for the vital care they are providing for the community. Links to both of the organisations are below.

We are so excited and grateful to be given the opportunity to travel to Africa and volunteer in the P.C.E.A. hospital, and can't wait to see how care is provided in a different setting than the hospitals in Northern Ireland. We will both be fundraising in many different ways, with Maeve starting by running a leg in the marathon.

“Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.”- Isaiah 58:10

Much love and thanks,
