There are an uncountable number of stray animals in Crete. Many of these animals are killed, injured and abandoned on the streets to fend for themselves. The Gouves animal shelter has been running for 10 years and has saved thosands of animals in this time by finding strays, caring for them and helping find them forever homes all over the world. On the 5th of September this year I will be volunteering at this rescue for some time to help with the strain of all of the stray dogs and cats rescued daily. All money raised in this crowdfunder will be donated to the rescue to help them continue with their amazing work saving these beautiful dogs, cats and other animals. Every penny will go a long way, paying for food, shelter repairs, vet bills and transport fees for the animals. This is a non-profit rescue and is run by volunteers alone. All and any donations are massively appriciated and will help more than you could imagine.
