Weʼve raised £925 to help make adaptations to Laurel's home to make it safer for her whilst going through treatment and after.

    Story

Laurel is a beautiful brave little girl who at the age of one went for an eye test and came away with every parents worst fear. Laurel had been diagnosed with a rare form of eye cancer (bilateral retinoblastoma grade E) in both her eyes.

This has required relentless treatment over the past 18 months which is an ongoing struggle of chemotherapy injections to her eyes as well as laser and cryotherapy.
Laurel has had countless MRI's, bone marrow extractions, central lines bloods taken and undergoes near weekly general anesthetic exams.

Laurel has had to travel every week to Birmingham, 1 of only 2 specialist centers for this type of cancer. She spends 3 days a week away from her home and family in central Scotland to receive treatment. This doesn't include the days she still has to travel to York Hill to have further tests done.

Laurel has had to adapt over the past two years to life with little or no sight some days. She suffers headaches constantly as well as painful eyes.

Sadly this past month, Laurel has lost her right eye to the cancer and has found out that there is growth of the cancer in her left eye. This is devastating to the family as Laurel can now see very little.

The future for this brave little girl is so unknown and that's why I want to raise money to make her life a little easier to help get equipment in the home as well as making adaptations to make her home safer and easier to get about. We also want to look into getting her dog training to become her seeing eye dog. I also want to help to raise money to help with weekly travel costs to and from Birmingham and York Hill.

This is an amazing family who have sacrificed so much and continue to every week.

By doing this I am hoping to make laurel and her family lives a little bit easier.
