Story

To create a sensory garden which can be used by all of the children at our school. This would also be a calming space for the EYFS children and for children within the school who have special educational need including those with sensory needs. The sensory garden will include objects and plants that will create a safe learning environment where children can also seek touch, texture, sound, smell and visual input.

The school conservation area has recently been transformed from years of it being overgrown and unattended. New paths have been put in and the whole area has been cleared and there soon will be flower beds in place so the children can grow their own vegetables. This has all been done from school funds and the flower beds will be put in place by the school PTA.

The parents, teachers and community recently came together and fundraised for a magical superhero memorial bench for a year 3 child called Dexter who very sadly lost his fight to neuroblastoma earlier this year. This bench is now in place and looks beautiful. Behind Dexters memorial bench is a truly magical area and we thought it would be lovely to come together again with the community and see if we can add a magical sensory garden to help complete this part of the school conservation area.

Be great if everyone could help us to make this happen by sharing this fundraising page so we can raise as much as we possibly can to create this much needed calming space within our school.

Please note this fundraising is not connected to any part of the PTA or school fund. We are fundraising to make this happen for the school, for all of the children and for the children with additional needs and sensory needs.
