I've raised £10000 to Kilimanjaro Summit Climb for our chosen charity Shine in memory of our daughter.

In 2016 we found out we were expecting our second child. Unfortunately on our 18 week scan we found out that our beloved daughter had developed Myelomeningocele, this is the most severe type of Spina Bifida with 4 -5 cm of her spine missing and fluid on the brain. The severity of this would have caused her to have weakness or total paralysis of the legs , life long effects with internal organs, and further more the fluid that was on the brain would have caused severe brain damage leaving her unable to understand her surroundings, who she was and more.
Due to this my wife and I had to make the hardest decision of our lives. At 21 weeks of the pregnancy (3/11/16) we said good bye to our little daughter Maisie, to free her from what would have been a agonising life of pain and suffering. During the last two years we have had some ups and downs personally but by far the hardest thing was keeping ourselves strong for our three year old son Max. In the past two years Max has come to understand now that his sister is in a more comfortable place.
So in memory of our daughter Maisie, in 2020 I am pushing myself to the absolute limit of my mental and physical limits by attempting to walk/hike up kilimanjaro in Africa at the height of 5895m.
I am raising money for a charity called Shine that supports people of all ages with Spina Bifida. It also helps support families. https://www.shinecharity.org.uk/
Thank you for the support in advance and anything given will be very much appreciated.
