Story
2 year old Charlie is surpassing expectations following birth complications in which he required extensive resuscitation and was left severely effected.

Charlie and his family work around the clock to improve his quality of life, but as he becomes bigger his requirement of equipment grows and his family are struggling and are unable to offer Charlie the equipment he needs due to the lack of accessible and usable space.
The family find themselves in a house which does not meet Charlie’s needs, however due to job loss through Covid they are unable to move.
The focus for the family is to create usable spaces for Charlie to receive his therapies, this involves creating a bedroom and an area for his his equipment and therapies to take place.
This will allow Charlie to access preventative equipment to help avoid or delay hip operations & a motorised chair to give Charlie his first ever taste of independence.
Charlie is oxygen dependant and suffers from recurrent pneumonia and lung infections so any form of general anaesthetic comes with huge risks and needs to be avoided at all cost.
One of the pieces of physiotherapy equipment that the family would like to be able to create space for is called an Innowalk. This innovative machine will allow Charlie to simulate walking which brings endless health benefits as well as particularly supporting muscle development to help stabilise his hip joints. Charlie has trialled it and loves it.
After Charlie’s first 5 months of life having been spent in the hospital there is nothing Charlie loves more than being outside. With this in mind we would like you to join Charlie and his family in their wish to be able to give Charlie this opportunity to access the pieces of equipment that will help him continue to develop, and avoid life threatening surgery.
We invite you to join us in getting outside to march for Charlie throughout March and lets together get Charlie himself taking some precious/vital steps too.
March is a great time to get outside, start getting fit and enjoy the (hopefully) better weather!
What we need YOU to do:
-Walk 310,000 steps over the month of March - This is 10,000 steps a day, you can choose to walk less steps one day and make up for it the next, or perhaps at the weekend. Just MAKE SURE you complete 310,000 as you will need to take a picture at the end of the month of your phone health app or from a fitness tracker app to prove you have done it to your sponsors :-)
-Share the facebook page so that your friends know what you are doing, track your progress and sponsor you!
-Donate to the cause to support the Marchers if you are unable to participate.
Marchers names are below:
1) Ananda, Darren, Dylan and Charlie
2) Jenny Stephenson
3) Amana Ali
4) Laura Falter
5) Ann Gilbert
