Hello! One of my old friends Josh set up this page on 2nd Nov 2016. He did this on behalf of myself and my wife, as we are trying to start a family. So what is our story? We are two young people who are happily married, we have for the last 28 months been trying to start a family. Our Journey to parenthood hasn't been easy so far and we know that it isn't going to be easy going forward.

I am a transgender man, having been born in a female body; I don’t have a way produce of sperm (As we all know a vital ingredient in the process!) We started by seeking out a donor online, we were let down on twice and again our arrangement broke down last Christmas. Having turned to the NHS to receive IUI/IVF treatment like any other infertile couple, we were refused based on the fact I couldn't take the necessary test for 'low sperm count'. As I cannot complete the required preliminary tests on the NHS, we have no option but to go private.

We haven't really discussed our fertility issues far and wide, but we have hit a number of financial stumbling blocks along the way. Behind the scenes we have been doing car boot sales, ebaying our old things, saving pretty much every penny including our honeymoon fund.
I know we aren't in life threatening circumstances, we don’t have a poorly family pet, we haven't had an accident and we aren't running a hundred miles in a weekend. But we are living with the reality we can't have children naturally. Every TV advert, every programme, a child in a supermarket, that beautiful baby you have just taken home, the christenings and birthdays we attend – They hurt so incredibly. We are so happy for you all as parents, but we ALWAYS wish that that was us, the sleepless nights, the nappy changes, the fitting that car seat woes, not being able to find a babysitter last minute and always stinking of baby powder and vick's vapour rub.
