Story
In September 2014 I was taken into hospital by ambulance with urinary retention.I was there for a week and underwent lots of unpleasant tests. When I was discharged I was no closer to finding out what was wrong. The 'cure' was for me to self catheterise for the rest of my life!I was 42,my children were 3 and 12.This wasn't the kind of life I could picture myself living.I had never had bad health like this.I do have RA, fybromyalgia and degenerative disc disease. You may think "she was always sick",but these were things I could manage.I knew there was more going on but no one would listen.I was just a hypochondriac time waster!November 2014 I had a long awaited surgery to fix some cervical discs.I passed all the 'fit for surgery' tests.I was only meant to be in hospital for 1 night. The surgery went well but my sats kept going down.I ended up being there for a week but was told I was fine.I went home thinking all was well.In January I developed what I thought was a cold.I ended up in ICU with respiratory failure.I seemed to be in & out of hospital all of the time but no one looked in to why.In May 2015 I was admitted after being unable to stop vomiting.I ended up under a colonic Dr who made me feel useless & threatened me telling me I was a waste of space and I was just 'grossly constipated'.After that I didn't go to hospital anymore feeling useless until in October 2015 I could bare the pain no more.My daughter was 5 on October 16th so I gritted my teeth and fought through. On 18/10/15 I could bare it no longer.I was sent by ambulance to hospital. On October 20/10/15 I was told I had aggressive end stage cancer.I was riddled. The signs were always there, but no one bothered looking into it!If it had been caught earlier it would have been an easy fix.I was given weeks!I was devastated! All I can leave my kids is memories. I'd like to take them to disneyland for our 1st family holiday. They will lose their mum but not their memories.I don't want to leave them ever.:'(

8 years agoWe're so close to hitting the target. Please don't give up on us now. Since my last update I am now in a wheelchair 24/7 so I feel even more than before my kids need to make happy memories. My poor 14 year old is becoming a carer. I don't like it but he tells me he loves me and doesn't mind taking me to the toilet, helping me transfer etc etc. To add insult my electric wheelchair which until now had around a weeks use has decided to die so I am totally reliant on my family. He needs and deserves to be a kid, even if only for a short time

Today an angel visited me. An amazing 10-ish year old gave me £10 that he had earned himself. Thank you Lochlan (I hope I spelt that right!). What an amazing thing for someone so young. Thank you
