Story
Mason is now 9 years old and contracted Meningococcal Septicaemia on December 1st 2016 he was treated at St. Marys, Paddington for just over 3 weeks where they saved his life. On December 23rd Mason was transferred to Broomfield Hospital Chelmsford, where he underwent surgery on Christmas Eve, the prognosis at first was not good, we were told to prepare for quadruple amputations, however all our Christmases came at once when we were told they had managed to save his right arm, only amputate just below the elbow on the left arm and they had managed to save some thigh on both legs so we were ecstatic.
We were so lucky Mason was cared for initially at St.Marys, a research centre and home to a fantastic team of people who specialise in Sepsis, their patience and expertise has helped him get where he is today.
We are now coming up to 6 years on and are happy to report that we have our little boy back, just in different packaging. Mason is a fighter and a very strong willed little boy, he is going from strength to strength.
We are raising money to enable us provide him with the most technically advanced prosthetics and aids so that with his determination and ever advancing technology he can be what ever he wants.
We are just so grateful that he is with us and he reminds us how fragile life can be but also how wonderful it is!
Mason deserves the opportunity to grow into an independent fulfilled young man, the money raised will make sure he has the means to be able to do this.
With our love, strength and positivity and your generous donation we will help give him the best start. Thank you.
