Story

"Malachi had an accident when he was a tiny baby and, because of this, he is unable to be insured.

Thanks to many kind donors already, he has been seen by Noel and Colin (Neurological Specialist) at Fitzpatrick Referrals and had several diagnostic tests. They discovered that Malachi actually has a very rare condition, which - with total commitment on our part and quite a number of ongoing treatments at the Fitzpatrick Clinic - they are able to treat, so that he will be able to join his friends (old and new) in play, which he is so desperate to do.

Malachi will require a stent to be inserted into his Cerrebellum (base of the brain), where currently a build-up of fluid occurs, causing pressure to various sensitive neurological areas. An internal tube leading to his stomach will be connected to that stent permanently so that the fluid can drain freely straight into his tummy, rather than build up at the base of his brain. Of course, like all ops, there is a risk of infection and the plan at the moment is get him as fit as at all possible before that. A lot of his quite intensive fitness regime will take place with the Specialist Physiotherapists at Fitzpatrick Referrals, but there are also more exercises to be carried out at home on a daily basis. He’s got the hang of some of these already, as he loves to learn new things !!!

Needless to say, his ongoing treatments are very costly and we very, very much hope that you will support us in our quest to provide this determined little man with the best possible life he can have.

If ANYONE refuses to give up... it is this little fighter himself... and he is determined to prove that every single day."
