I'm raising £5000 to help two amazing charities — one supporting children through bereavement, and one aiding a North East hospital, particularly in cardiology.

Story

Mallorca 400 – Second Edition

This year marks the second edition of the Mallorca 400!

M400 is an endurance challenge that is a run around the entire circumference of the island Mallorca over 400km including 5000m+ of climb. Jordan and I will be completing this in 4 days, each day covering 100km, split between us so roughly 50km each. It’s going to be tough, but we’re ready to take it on.

Jordan is my partner’s brother and has decided to join me on this challenge after a year that shook us all. In 2025, they lost their dad, Mark, a loss that had a huge affect on his family and everyone who knew him. Mark was there at the finish line of the very first Mallorca 400 in 2025, so continuing this journey in his memory feels especially meaningful.

The first chairty we have chosen to support is Winston’s Wish, the UK’s leading bereavement charity. They provide vital guidance, resources, and support to help children and youngs adults navigate life after losing someone they love. Their work resonates deeply with Jordan’s experience so its feels fitting to have them as one of this years charities.

As I was completing the Mallorca 400 in May last year, one of my best friends, Lucy, lost her sister Hollie. Hollie suffered a cardiac arrest on 21st April and spent four weeks in intensive care at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. Whilst in intensive care, she experienced further cardiac arrests and required various forms of life support, and sadly passed away on 15th May at the age of 34.

During this time, the care Hollie and her family received was extraordinary, which is why we have chosen to raise funds for Ward 21 at the Freeman Hospital.

The second charity we have chosen to support is Newcastle Hospitals Charity, and the funds raised will help make essential improvements to Ward 21, shaped by the family's first-hand experience of spending many hours there. This includes improving the relatives’ waiting room, supporting staff wellbeing, and funding other vital services for families in similar situations.

Every donation helps make a difference and we’d love your support to keep this cause moving forward.
