Millions of children hit by the pandemic, are missing out on opportunities to discover the life-changing magic of reading - one that OECD research suggests is a key indicator in a child's future success. Children can only become readers for pleasure if they are immersed in high quality books, age appropriate books that ignite their imaginations! Decades of research show a reader for pleasure is more likely to be happier, healthier, to do better at school, and to vote – all irrespective of background.

We are passionate that every pupil who leaves Malvern Wells can read fluently and with understanding. We want our children not just to learn to read but, to love reading and be able to talk broadly and widely about books they have been immersed in.
