Dear friends of Mama,

What a story this has been. Your generosity and love has been tangible and so touching for Mama and for us. So soon after making the initial appeal, there was a phenomenal response, and now we stand at 92% of the £17,600 target. Just amazing.

We are closing the page now, as some very kind people have said they will make up the difference that remains. Mama keeps well, she has a couple more check-ups with the surgeon, and then she will fly back to the Gambia in early November. Her first check-up went really well, and the surgeon was pleased with the X-Ray and how the elbow is healing.

It's so humbling to consider that if Mama had not been over here in the UK, and if you all hadn't been so generous, then very sadly her elbow would be in a simply terrible state. Most likely her arm would have been amputated. It's wonderful to consider that she will be able to continue to use both her arms and hands to serve people and serve God with her characteristic joy and love.
