The Mammoth Stampede: Three sleep-deprived dads. One 10k. Zero excuses!
We're a small creative agency from the Essex/Suffolk border, and on 17 May 2026 we're running the Colchester Stampede 10k as a team — raising money for Stepping Out with Carers, a brilliant organisation dedicated to supporting the nation's unpaid carers.
Here's our lineup:
Stew — the only one of us with actual running experience. He's carrying the team on his back. Possibly literally.
James — last ran a 10k on New Year's Eve 2018 in Madrid. It did not go well. He hasn't laced up since.
Chris — zero running experience. Moves like E.T. trying to get home. We believe in him anyway.
All three of us have babies. All born in December. We are running on fumes, formula, and misplaced optimism.
Why Stepping Out with Carers?
There are over 5 million unpaid carers in the UK — people who quietly hold families and lives together, often at enormous cost to their own health and wellbeing. Stepping Out with Carers exists to get them out, moving, and connected.
Their flagship event, The Big Step Out 2026, is a national walking event bringing carers together across the country. We want to help make it happen.
Please give what you can.
