Story
MaaD is a project based at Stockport Progress and Recovery Centre in Stockport. It provides support based on the message that suicidal thoughts and attempts should not be hidden away or feared. They are common, and not wrong or shameful. It is perfectly possible to survive suicide attempts and to go on to live happy and fulfilling lives.
MaaD has one paid worker (20 hours per week) and 2 volunteers, all of whom have survived a suicide attempt and still experience thoughts of wanting to kill themselves. They are survivors; surviving surviving. They can identify with you if you have attempted to end your life or are thinking about doing so.
They are doing amazing work and saving lives every day but their funding is running out. This is the only project of its kind in the country. Please help us to support them as they are supporting our friends and family when they need them most.
