Funded on Wednesday, 31st October 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Celebrate World Education Day. Help give these students a comfortable environment in which to learn. We aim to facilitate the provision of school desks at the academy. As you can see from the photos the small number that were replaced recently were received with a smile and have already made a difference!

£500 will provide just 20 of the 80 desks currently needed. Every donation, no matter the size, will help to change the lives of these children.

Friends of Mananja continue to support the AIC Mananja Academy by raising awareness and funding to help develop the school and provide a safe education for the children.

The AIC MANANJA ACADEMY has been created to fight illiteracy in Machakos region of Eastern province by helping children within and beyond Mananja area through offering school-based education. The school also aims to offer education to the under privileged in this community. The project shall work in collaboration with the government children’s department; churches and community based organizations, NGOs and others, to help identify children who can be admitted to the project as beneficiaries.

The targeted children are those from within the region with an inclination to the orphaned, single parented and those coming from most of poor families within the area. The school has a feeding program for all the children in the school.

Currently most children in the area grow up illiterate resulting in early marriages, early pregnancies, crime and insecurity, drugs and prostitution. Many parents due to high cost of living are unable to take their children to school and they end up doing dirty odd jobs. These people need basic education, counselling, rehabilitation, school facilities and moral care. The creation of school facilities in educational environment for the academic ethical and spiritual growth is a requirement for children and social care for change. This group is to find ways to fund raise to support these aims.
