Story
Martina and her 4 year old daughter Gia currently live in Camp Joy rehab in South Africa, where Martina works and has done tirelessly for the last 12 years since completing the rehab programme herself. Martina's story is incredible and we will be posting updates for you to see for yourself. It is one of overcoming the most harrowing of trials and tribulations. She grew up in a notorious gang ridden area called Hanover Park and fast found herself becoming addicted to Crystal Meth. Martina become HIV positive and thought her life was over, until she found recovery through her faith. Martina has devoted the last 12 years of her life to bring inspiration and support to other addicts despite having very little herself. It is now time for Martina and her daughter to have their own home, their own front door to close behind them at night. We have permission from her mentor Pastor Craven to build on the land. Pastor Craven runs Cease Fire, a charity which is made up of ex gang members who mediate between the current gangs and help them get off the streets in to rehab to find a new way of life. Martina volunteers for outreach work helping to fight the gang crime in South Africa, as well as feeding the most vulnerable in their area. We are going to be doing a bike ride from London to Brighton and would love your support to give Martina and her daughter something that everybody deserves, somewhere to live.
