🕊️ Help Bring Ahmad Mamdouh Al Ibrahim Home to Rest 🕊

Alhamdulillah, Ahmad Mamdouh Al Ibrahim’s janazah took place on Friday, 11th April 2025, and everything went smoothly. His body will now be transported to Syria, Insha’Allah, so he can be laid to rest in his hometown among his loved ones. May Allah have mercy on him, forgive him, and grant him Jannah.

"Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return."

My name is Maneer, and I’m from Marsh Tailors in Huddersfield. I’m heartbroken to be writing this following a devastating tragedy in our local community.

On April 3rd, Ahmad Mamdouh Al Ibrahim, a 16-year-old Syrian boy, tragically lost his life after being stabbed in the neck in Huddersfield town centre. He had only recently moved here—just 12 to 15 days ago—after fleeing the war in Syria in hopes of building a better and safer life.

Ahmad was a survivor even before he came to the UK. As a child, he was seriously injured by shrapnel in Syria during the war and spent months in hospital recovering from life-threatening wounds. Despite the trauma he endured, he carried hope for a fresh start.

Sadly, that hope was taken away far too soon

Why We're Raising Funds:

Although funerals for children under 18 are covered in the UK, Ahmad’s mother has requested that her son be laid to rest in Syria, close to his family, his home, and his roots.

This JustGiving page has been set up, with the permission of Ahmad’s uncle, to help cover the costs of repatriating his body to Syria and ensuring he receives a dignified burial surrounded by loved ones.

This is incredibly important to me personally—not just as a member of the community—but as someone who has seen firsthand the pain and heartbreak this family is going through. Ahmad didn’t get the chance to experience the safety and future he came here hoping for. Helping grant this final wish of his mother is the least we can do.

How the Funds Will Be Used:

Repatriation and transport costs to return Ahmad’s body to Syria

Burial and funeral arrangements locally in Syria

If, for any reason, Ahmad cannot be transported, the funds will instead be used to support his family in travelling to the UK to bury him here with dignity and in accordance with his mother’s wishes

Any remaining funds will go directly to support Ahmad’s immediate family during this incredibly difficult time

No donation is too small. Even if you can’t donate, please help by sharing this campaign so we can bring Ahmad home.

Let’s come together as a community to honour this young life that ended far too soon, and support a grieving family in their time of need.

اللهم اجعل قبره روضة من رياض الجنة، وارزقه الفردوس الأعلى بغير حساب

"O Allah, make his grave a garden from the gardens of Paradise, and grant him the highest place in Jannah without reckoning."

Ameen. 🤲

Thank you,

Maneer
