A devastating forest fire has destroyed part of a coastal area North East of Athens. This is an area which my family and I know too well: I have been going there on holiday for many years now and my husband and his family, well for all their life. Not only it is the holiday destination for many Athenians, but more importantly it is the main and only place of residence for a whole community. On the afternoon of 23rd July 2018 the fire has fiercely developed in the span of 1 hour, many people have lost their life or have been injured. We have come to know that cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, shops that have not been affected, have opened their doors to the people in need. Food, water, medicines and other emergency goods are being donated by companies and private citizens. Authorities stated that support will be needed in the mid-term (in 2-3 weeks time).

I thought to start this crowdfunding page to try and raise money to help with the mid-term needs. I will check for trustworthy local organisations / emergency funds and/or use the money to directly help the needy.

I would greatly appreciate if you could help, please: it doesn't matter how big or little the donation, in these cases really every little helps. I will make sure to update you on any progress.
