Story

Manx Equitherapy

Over the past 8 years, we have worked tirelessly in an equine assisted venture to bring about a unique equine intervention primarily to benefit children, families, and other groups who are most in need on the Isle of Man. We have rescued and retrained 17 horses, all from the island who are a part of this team work approach alongside other professionals. We are part of a global network of equine assisted growth and learning associates (EAGALA) and attend training in Europe and elsewhere as part of our practice.

We are currently producing a documentary that will showcase our work going forward, an example of which documents a young girl who first came to us in a wheelchair suffering from ME and who, after only three of our six monthly programmes, is starting on her journey to enter the Special Olympics with one of our rescued horses. This is a monumental achievement and we are seeking to secure further funds to help her on her way.

Our documentary and unique work will help to change the way we see the world, and those we share it with.

Brilliant facility. The island is lucky to have it! Service is top notch, a lovely mix of professionalism and genuine friendliness. I left feeling like part of the family. The horses are gorgeous; well cared for and so docile. The setting is also stunning.
