Why do we need your help?

We are raising money to help Mostafa Yugi’s animal rescue shelter in Egypt.

Mostafa runs a rescue shelter for cats and dogs in Giza, near Cairo, giving them a life they deserve, instead of hunger & misery on the streets where they are abused. At the moment there are around 40 cats and 80 dogs at the shelter.

He needs your help to feed and care for them, provide veterinary treatment, including vaccinations, sterilisations & microchips, and to get them prepared to find loving homes.

Mostafa relies solely on donations to take care of all the animals at the shelter – he gave up his job to care for these animals when no one else in the area would.

Sadly, despite daily requests on social media, there are days when there’s not enough money coming in to buy food to feed the animals fully, so they have to go hungry – sometimes for 2 or 3 days at a time.

Only with the kind help of people like you, can this shelter continue to provide assistance to these animals - remember anything you can do for them means a lot to their little lives.

How will the money raised be spent? At the beginning of October 2022, Mostafa outlined the basic monthly requirements.

1. £1705 for wet food - £55 for each day

2. £180 for 6 bags of dry food and 9 bags of cat litter

3. £290 for shelter rent

4. £110 for vet visits for medications for sickness and vaccines

5. Gas: £40

6. Electricity: £70

7. Water: £60

8. Trash: £40

9. £190 for a young worker to help give medication and assist when out on a rescue or vet visit – Ehab is pictured here with some of the doggies he looks after – you can see how much they love him!

That’s around £2685 per month, at current prices – but they are rising all the time, of course.

We are hoping to raise £15,000 which will go a long way towards supporting the Many Paws shelter for about 5 months.

Mostafa says: “Please could you find it in your hearts to help out with a few ££££ if possible. It doesn't have to be a lot but anything helps towards the basics and we all need the basics in life especially the fur babies that have nothing”.
