Story

Many Tears is a small rescue centre based in Wales, and is run by Sylvia & Bill Van Atta, along with their team of staff and volunteers. They take in, and re-home ex-breeding dogs, dogs from pounds, dogs people no longer want, and they also take a small number of overseas rescues. They also take in some other animals too, such as: cats, horses, chickens, rabbits and even have a goat at the moment! Many Tears also spay, neuter, vaccinate, microchip, and seek to remedy any medical problems that dogs may arrive with. After this, the dogs are assessed and looked after by the team whilst they wait to be placed in their forever home.

Like many charities and dog rescue centres, Many Tears is struggling with the financial cost of COVID-19 restrictions. However, their need to rescue and re-home dogs is perhaps greater than ever, due to the heartbreaking statistics released by the RSPCA in May, claiming that around 40 dogs are being abandoned every day in the UK right now (due to rash and ill thought though lockdown pet purchases).

Due to COVID, Many Tears have had to cancel all of their planned fundraisers, such as: dog shows, tombolas, street collections, and sponsored events. There are also no visitors to the centre (as they have had to close their doors), which means no visitor donations either. The situation really is dire, and Many Tears is clinging on for survival. Therefore, any donations would be hugely appreciated, and could mean the difference between the rescue surviving and the rescue being able to continue to save dogs, or not. Please help!
