I've raised £200 to continue to pay for Olis 1:1 support at after school club, by cycling a marathon over the Summer holidays.

Oli is 7 years old and is diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). He's an incredibly happy child with a passion for numbers and trains. The combination of his ASD and ADHD makes him very 'busy' and, as a result, he requires 1:1 attention in any group activities.
For the last 2 years he has attended an after school club one evening a week. He has had a 1:1 assistant for every session who (up until the end of March ) has been funded by the local council. Being autistic, he lives by his routine and since attending the club has developed important social skills, friendships, and a special bond with his 1:1. It is the only ‘out of school’ club he attends.
As some of you may know from our previous fundraising page, at the beginning of March of this year we were declined funding for any more assisted placements. As such, we decided to start up a justgiving page in the hope that we could continue to fund the 1:1 support privately. We were overwhelmed with the response and managed to raise an amazing £958, which will enable him to carry on attending until December ‘18.
1:1 support costs approximately £9.50 per hour. He attends for 2 and a half hours a week. ( NB We pay, and always have done, the £11 per session. We are trying to fund the additional cost for the 1:1 member of staff.)
We‘ve decided to use these Summer holidays as an oportunity to do some more fundraising to help pay for more of the 18/19 academice year. The challenge will be for both Oli and Millie to i individually cycle (or scoot) 26 miles over the duration of the school Summer holidays. With 2 weeks of that time taken up by holidays away, this gives them each 4 weeks to complete the challenge.
Any small amount that can be contributed towards the funding will be a big step in helping Oli continue his social development and, most importantly, allowing him to enjoy a club that he loves.
Much love!
