Marc Burns passed away on June 22, 2022, aged 49, after being diagnosed with a brain tumour 18 months ago.

A beloved partner, dad, son, brother, uncle, friend and colleague, Marc faced this illness with bravery, humour and honest emotion. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

While Marc dedicated his career to tech - most recently as a Tech Champion at the Arts Council - Marc was a talented musician and artist and always talked about the importance of making the arts as accessible as possible.

While tech fed his bank account, it was culture that fed his soul.

We are therefore setting up this fundraising page in honour of Marc, where any kind donations will be shared equally between the following two causes:

Brain Tumour Research, the national charity focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours.

Cobalt Studios, the Newcastle-based not-for-profit, community interest company that aims to bring people together via culture and make good quality culture affordable and accessible.
