Story
2020 was a year like no other in our lifetime. Having access to laptops and smart phones has become essential to enable children to access on-line learning. Even when the schools return next week, every time there is a confirmed Covid case in their bubble, children will be learning from home again. Schools have also moved homework to on-line learning platforms.
Some children do not have access to a computer/phone, have to share a device with a parent who is working from home or cannot afford sufficient data.
Having donated some old laptops (which were handed out within 2 hours!), the Programme Management team have been inspired to set up a work team challenge to buy a local school some additional IT equipment which can be distributed to families in need. We will be getting out our trainers, bikes and kayaks and completing 50 miles each in March.
Please sponsor us and help us to reduce the digital divide. Every child deserves the right to access education and fulfil their dreams.
