Assalamualeykum, I am writing this message on behalf of Ustadh Murat Kucuk who is an imam from Turkey who has been given the role to look after, educate and mentor our Muslim brothers and sisters in Margate, Kent.

The Ustadh arrived in Margate 3 years ago from Turkey and since then the Muslims have been renting community centres for Islam events, Islamic weekend school, and for prayer. Unfortunately, Margate is full of racist Islamaphobes therefore it is getting more and more difficult to find a centre to allow Islamic practices to take place.

Furthermore, the facilities at the community centres are inadequate to cater for the Muslims' needs i.e. wuduu, prayer - to the point that they have to pray on the grass.

Alhamdullilah, a place was purchased in Margate and the license was given by the local council to allow the for the place to become a masjid. However, due to the racist nature of the local community, many protests and complaints took place to disallow the place to be transformed into the house of Allah. Praise be to Allah because the license was already given, it could not be revoked. Nevertheless, the local council have become very involved with the project and interfere as much as possible, increasing the cost of the construction.

So far, £90,000 has been spent on the renovation and construction work of the masjid however it is still not finished. The top floor where the masjid/madrasah is for the males has been completed. However, the bottom floor where the masjid/madrasah is for the females is yet to be completed.

Currently, there are 60 highly motivated young Muslim boys and girls that will be our future in Margate. These children need a permanent masjid where they can call their second home. The masjid will provide these children the facilities to make wuduu, to pray salah, to have Islamic lessons and become our future Islamic community leaders. Not only that, the masjid will be open for the 5 daily prayers, something the local Muslim community are without.

We need to raise £50,000 more to finish the construction of the masjid to allow the local Muslim community to benefit from it. Please donate generously and know that Allah will reward you for your charity.

Sadaqah Jariyah is endless charity that you are rewarded for even after you die. Helping this masjid means even after you die, you will be rewarded every time salah is held, every time Islam jurisprudence is taught, even every time a word of Allah is mentioned from the Quran in the masjid.

I will leave you a few ayahs from the Qur'an and hadith about charity so it is easier to comprehend the vast bounties and mercies Allah provides for those who give charity.
