When I saw my local RDA were organising a sponsored 10k ride to raise funds I didn't even consider that I could do it as it's been years since I've spent more than an hour in the saddle or done more than a leisurely walk (occasionally Claire persuades me to consider a trot when the planets are aligned and there was my birthday beach ride when my lack of Arabic made for a faster experience than I'd bargained for..but you get the idea). This is a great charity and lots of the people who ride there face massive daily challenges and are still going to do this 10k, so I figured my creaking back and leg are nothing by comparison and I should give it a go too. The funds will go to caring for the amazing horses who make it all possible and to making sure there are enough trained staff and volunteers to support people to reach their goals. Like me, they all think that horse therapy is the best therapy!
