Story

Grace (my daughter) has been diagnosed with migralepsy and photo-sensitive epilepsy in 2017-2018. Grace cannot remember when she has a seizure. Grace has nocturnal seizures during her sleep too, but recording any of her seizures is a challenge. This equipment that I am crowdfunding for would be able to record all of her seizures when her heartbeat changes before a seizure begins. The equipment would also help Grace as she is at risk of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). The device with a warning would alert anyone who is near Grace.

Would you consider £1 donation or more?

You can donate by clicking the 'donate button.'

Thank you.

P.S I have approached Grace's GP and consultant for funding for this equipment but it has been refused. Grace has findings on her EEG and MRI of abnormalities.

Further information: these are the triggers that can affect Grace with photosensitive epilepsy

Bicycle lights (red and white)

Ceiling fans

Christmas lights that flash

Computer screens

Flashing novelty badges

Interactive whiteboards

These are some examples of patterns that could be seizure triggers:

High contrast patterns such as black and white stripes

Striped or patterned materials and walls

Patterns in some television programmes, video or electronic games

A moving escalator

Strobe lights

Looking directly at certain patterns caused by sunlight could be a seizure trigger for some people. Examples of these situations are:

Sunlight through slatted blinds

Sunlight through trees, viewed from a moving vehicle

Sunlight reflected off moving water or off snow

Sunlight through moving leaves

Sunlight through railings, as you move past them
