Story
Mariella Rose tragically passed away on March 30th 2026, a gorgeous young lady who daily brought sunshine and joy into our lives and everyone who had the privilege of being part of her world.
Mariella generously gave her time as a volunteer, she attended college, worked part time in a busy food setting and was also proudly a Police Cadet. All of these, she saw as the steps that would lead her towards her meaningful career in the Police service.
Mariella was diagnosed as dyslexic when she was 14 and on receiving the results she said she was, “relieved, as if they had said I didn’t have dyslexia I would go through life thinking, what is wrong with me?”
Mariella displayed real courage in how she shared with others her dyslexia diagnosis and the challenges she faced daily. The Mariella Rose Foundation will provide assistance to young people with dyslexia and those seeking a diagnosis through bursaries and a mentoring programme to provide much needed support through school, college and in the workplace.
Mariella was a true champion and ambassador for dyslexia and we want to continue her support for other young people and their families, her encouragement for others to believe in themselves and to achieve their dreams.
