OUR STORY

Over a year ago, Anil, Alice Tyser, Sam, Toby, Natalie, Sara R., Sara S., Harry, and Mariko have joined a charity group called BeMore. Together we pledged to raise money that we would donate to a cause we decided on over the course of a year. We went through a process of due diligence and defining our group's values, looking at pressing causes in general, at criteria for giving to charities such as their sustainable, long-term impact and issues such as overlooked causes in the light of so many terrible and urgent causes in need of help in the world.

WHO WE ARE GIVING TO

We finally decided to give to a charity called the Resco trust (www.resco.co.uk) that in our opinion is developing a self-sustaining charity model of the future, especially in times of decreasing funding. They help the homeless by supporting them very gently in their journey back to a lasting, stable employment, looking closely at the root causes and helping them overcome them with that human connection and a mix of empathy and clear rules. They are currently setting up a pilot model to scale up their impact and to be able to help even more people.

The other charity is called One in Four, (www.oneinfour.org.uk). They help female and male survivors of sexual child abuse rebuild their lives, providing therapy and support for a longer period of time than any other charity or health organisation. Shockingly, in the UK one in four people have been victims of sexual abuse in their childhood. This charity is run by a truly passionate and fiercely determined team who are and fighting for each and every single person in need of their help.
