I've raised £1650 to fund a medical volunteering project to Honduras to help provide healthcare in deprived communities as a team of medical students

University of Birmingham is a member of Global Medical Brigades, an international movement of students and medical professionals working alongside local communities and staff to implement sustainable health systems. We work in remote, rural, and under resourced communities in Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua and Ghana who would otherwise have limited to no access to health care. During a Medical Brigade, volunteers have the opportunity to take vitals and patient history in triage, shadow licensed doctors in medical consultations, and assist in a pharmacy under the direction of licensed pharmacists.
A short video explains the works of the Medical Brigade: Medical Brigade Video
Another short video illustrates what I'll be doing in more detail: Honduras Volunteers
All volunteers are required to self fund their travel and raise a minimum of £750. This sum goes towards supplying medications, equipment and the tools needed to make infrastructure improvements such as fresh water and basic sanitation projects. I would very much like to volunteer for this project alongside fellow medical students from the University of Birmingham Medical School. For that I need help!
If you feel able to make a contribution, however small, I would be very grateful, and you would be helping me to make an invaluable step towards going on the trip and making a contribution.
