Story
Recently I was told that i couldn’t recieve government funding to go to my dream dance college, Mandy Ellen Performing Arts College and as i got told so late in the year most other dance schools have already filled their spaces for september, because of this if I dont come up with the money I am having to wait until next year to apply else where. I have spent the last month exhausting all resources to be able to come up with the funding and am still currently doing so. I don‘t want to put my dream on hold for another year but currently that is the best option I have come up with. Professional dance colleges are very expensive to pay for so as you can guess i was very surprised to know that my dance college are not registered so their students can’t recieve funding or help at least coming with such a large amount. I really want to go to this college and start my training there as they study the same dance board, ITDA that i’ve been learning and taking exams for since I was 5 years old also the same teaching syllabus I have been helping teach and learn for 5 years now. Very recently I had the honour of being awarded The Anna Young Memorial award for my inspiring dance ethnic and committment towards helping and teaching at my local dance school Stardust Studios. This award not only means the world to me to have been nominated and chosen but it has also given me the strength to raise the money. Any money raised or donated will all be put towards uniform, costumes and shoes and also the amazing trips Mandy Ellen has to offer such as, an amazing two week trip to New York next year to take part in workshops and perform on Broadway! Any money raised and donated I will be forever thankful for I can’t express how long I’ve wanted to pursue my dance career and now the opportunity may be taken away from me, every penny and pound counts thank you!
