Story

I’m raising funds for my friend Jack. His world completely fell apart not long ago — first losing his home, and then being stabbed in the side of the head. What followed was something no one could see coming.
The stab wound led to a rare and aggressive infection called necrotizing fasciitis — the “flesh-eating” disease. He was put into a coma for weeks, had multiple surgeries to keep him alive, and ended up losing a lot of the tissue in his face. Doctors had to rebuild it with major surgery, and he’s had to learn to walk, eat, and talk again.
Three months on, he’s still fighting every day. He’s only got about 20% vision left in one eye, and one of his initial skin grafts failed, leaving him with painful scars all over. More surgery is still to come.
When he’s finally discharged, he’ll basically be starting over — with nowhere to go and nothing left. This page is to help him get back on his feet, cover the cost of a tenancy, and get the basic things he’ll need to start again — plus any aids or equipment for his recovery.
I’ve had my own rough past, and I’ve tried to help people who’ve been through addiction or been failed by the system. So this hits close to home for me. I just want to see him safe, supported, and given a proper chance to move forward.
Anything helps — no matter how small. Even sharing this page makes a difference.
He’s come this far against all the odds. Let’s help him get the rest of the way.
