Story
I am looking at purchasing 2 x mobi-chairs (www.mobi-chair.com) for
DialSouthend (established in 2001) which is a registered charity
(Number 1093530)
These disabled chairs are very new to the market for the disabled, its a wheel chair that CAN be used on a beach but also more importantly it allows its user to be able to FLOAT in water. With the help of a family member or a carer it would allow a disabled CHILD or ADULT to be able to float in water.
As you can imagine having a a disabled child or even having a day at the beach with a family may be considered not really a possibility but having this chair a whole family could use the beach more easily and also allow that child to go in the water with their family or care giver.
Even for an adult who is disabled to be able to use the beach and float in water can make a really big difference. For some out there they can plan a holiday at the beach, where in the past this may not have been possible.
Here are some of the advantages for the chair:
It floats, its easy to transfer a person from a wheelchair into the
mobi-chair, Complete manoeuvrability, Easy transport, Easy to Assemble, Looks great, Comfortable & Durable.
To allow a disabled child or adult to enjoy the beach is worth all the money in the world. It allows a child to be a part of the family in enjoying the beach and the sea. It allows a that disabled adult to be independent in the water and the amazing feeling that it gives.
The only other place in the UK that has one of these chairs is located in Dorset which has been a complete success in helping families on the beach. Now being located in Southend-on-Sea as you can imagine this will be a great success with the backing of yourselves out there, personally I can see people from all over Essex wanting to use these, perhaps even coming from central London to be able to use a Mobi-Chair.
