    Story

Inclusion in sports can help people with differing ability build social and motor skills that can help people deal with their everyday lives. Mayfields Life-Skills Centre (MLSC) is a social enterprise that teaches life skills for the disabled across the midlands through adapted sport. MLSC founded by Mark Beeby have been developing a wide range of skills and products that support people’s inclusion by innovative design and activity development e.g. VI Boccia Grid and ‘The Running Line Project’.

To support the continued delivery of these activities with MLSC, Mark Beeby is completing a number of fundraising activities over the next month, including:

A charity dinner (date to be confirmed) with a fundraising raffle/prizes.

A 5K blind-folded park run where Mark Beeby will run the course with a guide.

A 3K Run at Loughborough University, where Mark puts his own invention to the test and runs 3K blindfolded using the Running Line. The ‘Running Line Project’ is a collaboration with Loughborough Design School to investigate how the use of a range of technologies can help visually impaired children run long distances independently.

Delivering adapted sport activities can be an expensive enterprise, travel, equipment and facility costs are all provided by the MLSC to allow all to attend. Please consider donating through this site to help raise some valuable funds to help MLSC continue in its mission to help those with limited ability.
