Story

Dan, Mark and Rachael are raising funds for the RNLI Invergordon Lifeboat Station on the stations 2024 50th anniversary. We've decided to swim across The Cromaty Firth, from the Black Isle to the Lifeboat Station, emulating Dan's dads (my cuz) swim in the 1970's. We've decided to opt for wet suits rather than Neils swim trunk method he used when he was 11 or 12.

We have support from the station on the day, providing boats for our safety, swimming against the elements, tide, wind and waves. The distance is 0.7 of a mile as the crow flies, but by the time we take in slight deviations and the highish tide, it will probably be nearer a mile. We were intending to swim on the 10th, but due to adverse weather conditions we've had to change the day and time.

Donations will be greatly appreciated and hopefully we will reach our £1000 goal........and maybe exceed it.

We intend to do the swim on the 11th of August 2024 at 09:45am from the Black Isle.

Many thanks.

Mark (fellephant) Birbeck, Daniel and Rachael Cormack.
