Story
Gordon and Jane Kille run the popular Brackley community venues ‘The Green Room’ and the ‘Dough and Vine’
You may not know but ‘Gordy’ was a Police Officer for 21 years’ in both Thames Valley and Dorset, eight of those years spent as a firearms officer. He loved serving the public, but eventually had to leave to look after Jane who had 'ME' or chronic fatigue syndrome.
They built their business in Brackley and together they have got on top of Jane’s illness which is ongoing but managed.
Life was good and Gordy was able to free up some time to assist with Brackley FC, one of his great loves, he is now a popular figure at the club. He celebrated his 50th birthday last year.
Four months’ ago he was diagnosed with blood cancer. Gordy always has a positive outlook with a smile on his face. He has helped many and has been an inspiration to so many more. Informed his cancer could be managed with medication, they took it on the chin, adjusted life and continued to plan for the future.
Recently he started to limp whilst running and had some dexterity issues. Two weeks’ ago he was diagnosed with Motor Neurones Disease on top of his cancer.
The average life expectancy for MND is 30 months’, people do live longer, although the majority need care and are wheel chair bound. Already he has some muscle wastage, weakness and a limp.
Gordy can no longer physically help with his businesses and is definitely going to need a lot of support in the near future.
Whilst he is able, his friends would love to send him and his family somewhere warm on holiday and then raise enough cash for future issues/ equipment.
Please help us in building some precious memories and take the worry of finance away for the family. We do not know how quickly this awful disease will take hold, time is of the essence.
The target is low so people do not feel pressurised into donating large sums. Please give what you can.
A massive thanks to you all. Gordy and Jane are already humbled by the support.
