Story

100 Seats Covered Supporter Stands with Disabled bays.

After the incredible success of our 2020 Just Giving Campaign raising over £14,000 to fund the restructuring of the clubhouse, kitchen refurbishment and new covered seating area; ‘Eton Manor is again reaching out to its membership, friends, & Rugby family to help us fund a marvellous piece of new infra-structure for our club, a 100-seater (plus disabled bays) stand. The addition of this stand for spectators will benefit every aspect of our club, enabling us to offer some of our older and less able members a comfortable, dry, seated environment in which they can watch and support our clubs’ sides at all levels, whether senior or youth.

A pitch side stand allows the club to stage high value fixtures to our part of East London, even opening the door for Eton Manor to become a centre of excellence for Women’s Rugby. County Cup finals, County trials, 7s tournaments, multi fixture youth days would all be able to benefit from covered stands for the supporters. It’s worth noting that recently, England U20’s played a fixture at venue not too far away from Eton Manor on an RFU installed AGP! What an opportunity the stand offers the club.

As with all projects at our club, every single penny counts! This club project is estimated at £28,000 to see it installed. We are looking to raise £18,000 through this Just Giving page, the rest of the money will be made up from club funds and by selling the naming rights to the stands.

This is your chance to become part of this huge investment for our club, every donation to this project is gratefully received. For every £100 donation, we are offering donors to have their name included on a dedicated Wall of Honour which will go permanently inside the stands.

The stands are made from galvanised steel and are built using a modular process, which will allow us the opportunity to increase the capacity in the future if desired/required.

We know it is a huge ask of people to contribute to this project, especially when things have been so difficult with the Covid 19 pandemic and all the changes it has brought to our lives. We believe these ‘Stands’ demonstrates that as a club, we are looking to our future, putting in place an infra structure that will allow us to grow and offer more, a Rugby Club where our ethos of inclusion and giving back to our community is abundant, ultimately a local club that our community can share in and be proud of.

Please give generously.

Eton Manor Rugby Club is a community based, fully inclusive Rugby Club that's origins stretch back to 1909 when a group of likeminded former pupils from Eton College first set about providing the poorer children of East London with somewhere to be able to play and train for various sports. The Rugby Club was added in 1928 and through the years has migrated from Hackney Wick to Leyton, back to Hackney before finally settling in 1996 at its home in Nutter Lane, Wanstead, E11. The clubs founding principles of community spirit and its aspirational ethos of inclusion is a true today as it was when the club was first founded nearly 100 years ago.

Thank you for much needed help.
