Story
In my “wisdom”, I will be running the London Marathon on Sunday 3rd October. This will be my 3rd time training for the event in the past year and a half that has been postponed a few times due to covid.
I will be raising money for The Saffron Gael. If you are even remotely interested in GAA in Antrim, then you will be aware of Curly and Paddy McIlwaine and the work that they do. They have been Stalwarts in promoting everything GAA for decades. Before founding the Saffron Gael in 2017 the majority of their work was promoting Gaelic Games via the Ballymena Chronicle and Mid Ulster Observer.
The Saffron Gael is an open online forum that promotes Gaelic Games for the Antrim Clubs as well as County games and more. It doesn’t matter what code (Hurling/Camogie/Football) or the Grade (Senior/Intermediate/Junior/U14B), if it is GAA related, The Saffron Gael will do their best to promote it.
This is a voluntary site that relies on donations from clubs, companies and individuals to keep the forum running. As a small token of appreciation, I have chosen this cause for my marathon run. If you can donate anything (no matter how small), it would be hugely appreciated.
