Story

The three Bredbury Green and Romiley Councillors Angie, Mark and Lisa will be abseiling down the main council office block, Stopford House (the Police station in Life On Mars) in the centre of Stockport to raise funds for the Mayors fund which helps and promotes a selected local charity over the period of the council year. This year the chosen charity is Beacon Counselling. They support people locally suffering with mental and emotional distress. After the last particularly difficult year, fund raising has been hit hard but the help needed by local people has increased significantly. We are proud to be the only ward in the borough to be submitting a full contingent! This is a really good cause and a great event to get behind. (Hopefully the others will match our sheer bravery with generous sponsorship) Even the smallest of heights prove to be a significant challenge for one of the councillors in particular who will not be looking forward to this challenge and will be lucky to keep any dignity intact at all, however he does not want to be named or identified among his ward colleagues.
Why would you not cough up to have local representatives hurl themselves off a tall building with little more than a thin rope, an uncomfortable harness and a questionably effective (from that height) helmet to raise a bit of cash for great local causes.
Please sponsor us if you can.
Thanks
Mark, Lisa and Angie!
