ROCK TO ROCK!

Charity Swim

At the ripe old age of 64 I'll attempt a difficult sea swim from Stokes Bay on the mainland to Ryde on the Isle of Wight with a swimming partner who lost his legs on active service. I want to show that disabled people can do many things just as well as, and often better than able-bodied people.

The attempt will take place on July 22 - and could be the first of its kind in the history of the Solent.

i want to help fund the passionate people at Winnall Rock School In Winchester. They do an amazing job, helping kids find a creative outlet, using music to express themselves.

Life can be tough for young people - for all kinds of reasons. I have seen first-hand how much Winnall Rock School has helped a friend's daughter to develop not only an incredible talent, but also much needed self-belief.

I want to raise money so that kids who need additional support, or wouldn't otherwise have access to such opportunities, can express themselves in this lively, creative, inclusive atmosphere.

Devoted tutors put heart and soul into helping these kids write, sing and play their own songs. Imagine the satisfaction and sheer joy young people feel when they perform or record their own songs!

I'm not young any more. I'm 64 and I could be in the sea for three hours, swimming from rock to rock across the Solent. It's going to be tough, so please support me.

Together we can help Winnall Rock School reach more kids in more wonderful ways.

Thank you!

Mark
