From Thursday 11th June, myself and friends of Craven Community Boxing Club will be walking the full length of the Liverpool to Leeds Canal, around 127 miles, over three days, finishing on Saturday at about 5pm.

We are hoping to raise at least £5,000 to support Maverick Stars Trust and our community boxing club in Skipton.

Why This Matters

Skipton has limited positive activities and safe spaces for young people. Many struggle to access structured support, positive role models, and affordable sport.

Craven Community Boxing Club provides a safe, supportive environment where young people can train, learn discipline, and build confidence.

Maverick Stars Trust supports community projects across the UK, helping them develop sustainable programmes that improve confidence, fitness, and wellbeing. Their work helps clubs like ours provide consistent, high-quality support for young people.

How Your Support Helps

Funds raised will go towards:

* Supporting the work of Maverick Stars Trust

* Ongoing provision of Craven Community Boxing Club

* Refurbishment and improvement of the club through 2026

* Training and development for our coaching staff

As well as supporting a fantastic national charity, these funds will help us improve facilities and continue offering much needed support for the community.

Why I’m Doing This

I have experienced first-hand how sport can have a positive impact on people’s lives - building discipline, resilience, and self-belief - and I'm determined to ensure that potential is available in our community.

Walking 127 miles in three days will be challenging, but it is a practical way to raise awareness and funding for causes that matter locally.
