Oliver has been selected to play for Team GB (Under 10’s team) in the 2017 AAU Junior Olympics being held in California. This is the World’s most prestigious Roller Hockey Tournament where he will compete with teams from different nations for a place on the podium. In addition, he has also qualified for a place on the UK Young Guns team competing in the State Wars Tournament also being held in America following the Junior Olympics. This is an amazing achievement for cheeky little 10 year old boy who is totally devoted to the sport.

Last year, Oliver took part in the State Wars Tournament in Indiana where his team became the first team from outside of America to win a medal in this prestigious event. This was an amazing achievement particularly due to the fact that he broke his arm in a freak accident at the airport on the way out to the tournament. Even with his injury, he still competed with his arm in a cast and gave it everything. This gives you an indication of his passion, determination and dedication to the sport. He is a real inspiration to his friends and team mates alike.

Since then he has made a full recovery and thanks to some excellent coaching, he has significantly improved his skills and performance, hence the call-up to Team GB.

Unfortunately, the sport does not receive any funding so we have to cover our own costs which are significant. Due to personal circumstances, we are unable to finance this on our own. We are seeking support to help us to raise the £5000 needed to fund the trip. The tournament fees are almost £2500 for each event plus flights and transfers.
