Story
Kevin and Vicky always intended to marry, when the time is right. In June of this year, Vicky started suffering headaches and double vision. She attended an opticians who referred her to an ophthalmologist who sent her for an MRI. In early August Vicky was told she had a 3mm legion in her brain and had to be referred to a neurosurgeon. Weeks passed & Vicky's symptoms worsened. At the end of August Kevin decided immediate action was needed and took Vicky to hospital. She was kept in for 2 weeks while tests were run. Eventually Vicky saw the neurosurgeon at The Walton Centre (specialist brain hospital). Further tests were run that couldn't have been done anywhere else. Results showed the legion had grown to 10mm but due to the location was inoperable. A biopsy was required to confirm what kind of tumor she had. This was done almost immediately. At the beginning of October it was confirmed that the legion is a grade 4 astrocytoma brain tumor. It is aggressive, inoperable and terminal. Vicky has proven to be so strong minded and is determined to fight this all the way. She is currently receiving six weeks of radio and chemo therapy and trying to lead as healthy a lifestyle as possible and is taking supplementary medication that has been recommended to her. So, we don't have much time. We don't actually know how long we do have as Vicky doesn't want to know. Research shows that we don't have long though. What we do know is that Kevin is determined to marry his soulmate and that Vicky is determined to take on the same name as her sweetheart and her beloved children. Jack and Ellie need as many happy memories of their mum as possible and we are keen to help create some for them. Asking for help is not easy; asking for money even harder. However, the medication is extremely expensive and we need as much help as possible to provide the wedding Vicky and Kevin deserve and to hopefully pay for a short holiday for the 4 of them if Vicky is well enough.

8 years agoJust so amazed by the everyone's generosity. Please don't think us greedy but we have increased the target. We never really knew how much we should set the target at and didn't want to set it too high. However, Vicky's medication is so expensive that no amount of money will be too much. We are so grateful to everyone that has donated and shared. Wherever possible please do continue. Thank you so much.
