Story
Some of you may have previously seen that for the past 4/5 months I have been helping a lovely man called Mark get back on his feet.
I met him when I was distributing clothes and food to the homeless and I gave him some socks and as it turned out a home.
I gave him £20 and it got him rent on a house share. Unfortunately since then he still hasn’t been paid the benefits that he is entitled to, other than housing benefits.
As it has been going on for so long and he is continually being fobbed off at the benefits office, he is taking them to court! Fortunately he is able to do this, as he has met a barrister through begging in the same spot for 3 years and she has kindly agreed to do this at no cost to Mark.
Only problem being they have frozen Marks housing benefit until it has gone through the court and he now has to find £102 per week to keep the roof over his head next month.
IF they get a court date by the end of this month then his barrister can pay his rent and claim it back but if they don’t get a date by the end of the month then he is at serious risk of losing the house and being back to where he was at the start of the year.
He is a lovely guy and we have become friends.
If you can spare any amount Mark would be really grateful. He is extremely fed up, as you can imagine and only wants his benefits to get him straight and then he is desperate for work.
Thank you for whatever you can give!!
