I've raised £2000 to help the Siddha Baraha Secondary School and to enable more children to have the education they deserve

In November 2019, my best friend and I traveled throughout Nepal for a month. Our journey brought us to a small village in central Nepal where a local teacher invited us to meet his students at the Siddha Baraha High School. The school, which has over 500 enrolled students, is the highest level of education that most of the students will receive.
After sharing their lunches with us, the students told us about their dreams and aspirations. We were surprised not only by the quality of their english, but also by their curiosity and eagerness to learn about the world. It was clear to us that the education provided by the Siddha Baraha school gives them the best chance of achieving their dreams.
Unfortunately, due to limited funding from the Nepalese government, families have to pay their child’s tuition fees which they often cannot afford. Due to the lack of funding, the school also relies on private funding to pay 10 out of their 28 teacher’s salaries, leaving very minimal funds to invest in the maintenance and upgrading of the school facilities.
We would like to support the ambitions of the students by crowdfunding for the Siddha Baraha School and we are hoping to give more children from this region access to education.
The funds will be used for the following causes: • Scholarship for students whose parents cannot afford to pay for school • New desks and furniture for five new classrooms • Learning materials • Financial support for the staff
Please consider helping them by sharing this fundraiser or donating. Your generosity can really change their future for the better.
We also understand that you may be wary of donating your money to charities, because, as is sometimes the case in larger charity organisations, it’s not always clear that the funds will actually get to the people who need it. That is why we decided to personally organize this crowdfunding project and ensure that 100% of the donated funds are sent directly to the school.
