Story
An Old age Home In India
- and this is how it all began………………..
I travelled to India this year in February and then thought of giving some money to the poor but could not find any organisation that I could part this money with.
I have been praying about this and found some organisations in facebook but nothing appeased me.
Eventually on 10th April, I came across this video in facebook where a young man of 33 years old and his daughter of 10 years travelled on a motorbike with some rice and dal ( lentil soup) in a very remote village, which is very basic food. This they delivered to elderly people who could not travel to this mans house where some elderly are fed on a daily basis.
Some of these elderly live in houses that are left in ruins. The sacrifice of this father and daughter travelling in the hot sun delivering food to the elderly touched me so much that I immediately got in touch with this man and enquired about his work and ministry. The food was very basic meal as because the young man and family are themselves are not very well off. They have about 10 elderly people being fed in their house everyday
I then thought that he should first register this charity work. He also had people coming to him in India and opposing the work, asking him if he is registered as a charity. The cost of registration was a lot for an Indian to pay. I contributed some funds and the charity was registered.
I then approached some people to see if they could contribute towards the building of old age home in this village, few people (4 ) responded and contributed a sum of money.
The total money as of now that was sent is £862 and the building work began. The pictures you see are just a few but there were videos sent on Whatsapp which I am unbale to print.
The building is also very basic and in total, I would think it would cost about £3,500 to complete the building. No way this is possible in England but it is just about good enough for a simple Indian village.
Heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful people who have a beautiful heart to contribute to this weak and needy people – you will not go unrewarded for your generosity. A cheerful giver is always blessed by God.
