Story

St Peter's Catholic Church is located in the center of Bloxwich and has served the local community for the last 156 years in worship, social activities and in recent times in assisting Food Bank provision for the most needy

Currently the church is raising funds for the purchase of a new organ. The importance of quality music cannot be underestimated. "If music be the food of love, then play on" wrote Shakespeare. It certainly has the power to stir emotions and bring people together for the worship of God in our Bloxwich community.

St Peter's is currently blessed with a marvelous organist who is capable of extracting maximum value from what will be a considerable investment.

After a trial loan of the organ I can testify to the quality of the music he can produce from it. It produced a wide range of sounds, dynamics and musical textures. With the latest digital recording and play back features it will secure the playing of wonderful organ music for many years to come.

I have planned to embark on a solo pilgrimage by bicycle to St Chad's Cathedral, Birmingham then Chelsea Old Church to pay respects for St Thomas More and finally Westminster Cathedral, London.

The journey is some 175 miles over 3 days almost exclusively on canal towpaths/Thames pathways.

It is relatively easy with photographs and video to produce a presentation that can be readily shared with parishioners/contributors so they may share the journey with me!

I love cycling and regard it as a blessing from God. It has been invaluable for good physical and improving mental health.

Despite all my cycling experience I know this venture will be challenging. Your support will help me prevail over frustration and setbacks.
