Story
On the 26th of August 2016 we lost a bright star in Kieran McDade. Kieran played for Dunbeth Football Club 2003 squad and was 13 years of age. He suffered a cardiac arrest during a training session with his team. The out pouring of grief that was shared from one end of the country to the next has never been seen before and will probably never be repeated. We will never understand why this tragedy happened or ever understand how his family feel but we need to make sure that this never happens again. It has affected so many people that we Dunbeth FC have took it upon ourselves to set up a foundation in the name of Kieran.
The foundation will look to source as many Defibrillator's as humanly possible and distribute them to local clubs, this will help to give children the best possible chance of life if the unfortunate happens. This may or may have not helped Kieran, no one can be sure but what we do know is that if we had this piece of equipment then if it could have helped it would have saved his life. We cannot let this happen to another child and with the help of everyone who reads and shares this site we can make football a safer place for our children to be involved in. Our club was very fortunate to have had 2 donated by local businesses and our club is a much safer place to be with them so thank you to both parties we really do appreciate this generosity.
We will distribute these machines to football clubs around the local area and widen this as the foundation grows. All defibrillators will be owned by the foundation and will be serviced each year which the holder wIll sign an agreement on this.
This is a chance for you to potentially save a life and money should never come into it so please help us keep our kids safe so we can send them back home to their parents at the end of each training session and match. We didn't do that for Kieran's mum or dad, please don't let that happen to another set of parents.
The average cost of a defibrillator is £1000.
