Story

We are attempting to raise £2000 for our 9 month old daughter Freya. She has a condition called ‘Positional Plagiocephaly’ more commonly known as ‘Flat Head Syndrome’.

The condition currently affects around 47% of infants with 1 in 10 having to undergo treatment. Its a condition characterized by a flattening on one side of the head, it also involves bulging of the forehead.

Freya suffers from 2 forms of the condition, Plagiocephaly and Brachyephaly, left untreated this will remain, leaving our beautiful baby girl with a permenantly miss shaped head.

Treatment for this consists of Freya needing to wear a specially designed and fitted helmet that she will need to wear for 23 hours a day for 6 months.

unfortunately this treatment is not recognised on the NHS and is going to cost £2050 plus fortnightly trips to Cambridge for check ups and adjustments.

we will be taking on the task of walking 33 miles from Dereham to Mildenhall. We estimate this will take around 12 hours, give or take!

As well as hoping to raise an amount to put towards Freya‘s helmet it is also an opportunity to raise awareness for the help available

London Orthotic Consultancy

If you are able to donate, any amount would be extremely welcome but if not then just words of encouragement for our walk would be equally welcome

should we be fortunate enough to receive more than our target, any money left over will be donated to the charity, ‘Tree of Hope’ a charity who help other families with children affected by Plagiocephaly as well many other severe illnesses and disabilities.
